Bangkok Day I - First impression on Bangkok & Thai hospitality

Flew into Bangkok on AirAsia FD3544. As usual...bumpy landing on AirAsia.

We landed at Bangkok International Suvarnabhumi Airport at 5.45pm. Thai hospitality was great. Thai Tourism representative greeting us and promoting their local fruit harvest to us within the terminal. So we got to feast on the sweet fruits while waiting for our luggage...sweet start of our trip :D. We even got our first souvenir here...postcard on local fruits from the board. Before leaving, we were given a bag of lychee each...

Then we went to the tourist information counter to find out more info for our trip. We were given whole lots of pamphlets and guide book thought we have a little difficulty communicating with the officer in English. Anyway the pamphlets were sufficient enough.

We board the AE-1 Airport Express Bus bound for Silom Road. It was a comfortable ride on the bus and it wasn't that congested on the road. Pretty fast on their multiple lanes expressway...unlike what I was expecting from the Bangkok traffic.

We arrived in Silom Road at close to 7.30pm but we have difficulty in locating our guest house. We asked few people but mostly do not understand us. So we ended up pointing to our map and being guided with all sorts of hand signals.

Lucky for us to bump into a Malaysian couple who happened to stay in the same hotel as us. We finally arrived at Urban Guest House and checked into our room 3B on the level 3. The room was clean and comfortable.

After settling down, we went out to dinner along Convent Road together with the couple. I have got my first meal in Bangkok, a pork noodle...very strong taste and excellent stewed pork.
yummy...one of the best dish in Bangkok

After the dinner, we headed to the red zone of Bangkok, the PAPPONG...really excited to be here on the very first day...so many people approached us to go into their pub for all sorts of Pussy show...by the names, we knew they were really special...ping pong, tiger, cut banana, and the list went on. As we were only in group of 3 ladies, we dared not visit these pubs...only manage to peep into some...many 辣妹 in bikinis of all colour and sizes performing pole dance. This will be my must watch in my ever next visit to Bangkok.

We have got a BBQ drumstick and sausage as super. The drumstick was good but a little too salty while the sausage was no good, tasted sour.

Slept at 12...a good night sleep after a whole day of rush...rushed to finish off my work for the whole morning, then rushed home to pack my bag and rushed to the airport to catch my flight. I didn't have much time even to pack my backpack :S...later to realize that I have forgotten to bring my Lonely Planet Thailand and my contact lens case...
