Day 1 - Exhausting day to begin with

May and I traveled to Australia from 10 May to 24 May 2015. We are glad and grateful to have each others companies in this new world.

10 May - We have traveled for close to a day with a layover in Kuala Lumpur with AirAsia. Our flight was pretty smooth and the landing was perfect. We landed in Melbourne Tullamarine International Airport slightly close to 1 hour ahead of schedule. The airport was really busy with passages from multiple flight clearing the immigration together with us.
After we cleared off, we went straight to the Redspot pickup center situated right opposite the terminal. There was much surprise at the counter as we have already prebooked our car in advance with 0 liability insurance package.
After picking up our car, we decided to head straight to Great Ocean Road. We stopped by the Geelong and Great Ocean Road Visitor Information Center at Little River along Princess Highway as advised by the Redspot's staff and this was the beginning of our adventurous and fun trip.

Anglesea Golf Club along Noble Street, Anglesea - see kangaroos in the wild. We didn't know what to expect until we finally discovery a large mob of kangaroos. There were approximately 15 to 20 of them grazing grass in the club compound.

Urquhart Bluff - 1 of the many stops along GOR which gives view to stretch of long white sandy beach.

Split Point Lighthouse, Aireys Inlet - 1 of the few still functioning light house along GOR. It is also known as The White Queen, clearly for its white exterior. It's a good spot to look out to Eagle Rock Marine Sanctuary.

Memorial Arch, Eastern View - The memorial was build as tribute to the WWI servicemen but today it turns out to be a tourist landmark passing the GOR.

The Bottle Of Milk, Lorne - Located along the GOR, this restaurant serves burgers with juicy patties made fresh daily. Their cookies are soft and not overly sweet. Look out for wild cockatoos joining you at outdoor tables.

Teddy's Lookout, Lorne - Great picnic spot overlooking GOR. However it can be very windy up there so do make sure you hold on to your packed food.

Apollo Bay Eco YHA, Apollo Bay - Home away from home. This is 1 of the best environmental hostel we have ever put up at. Our room is comfortable and the facilities are sparking clean. Not to forget to mention about their kind and friendly staffs.

It was an exhausting day after the long hours of flight and drive. We enjoyed taking our own sweet time driving along Great Ocean Road.

Thanks to Phillip, the passionate volunteer whom we met earlier today at the information center for great recommendations along GOR! We would have missed a lot great spots if not for him.
