The connection between 'Freedom of Speech' and ISA

I believed many of us are awared with the recent Bersih rally and the Hindraf rally. Whether you like it or not...whether you are bothered or not, they are surely events that have impacted us especially the Klang folks.

I am not a rally supporter but I am not against the peaceful gathering. Malaysians should be given all the basic right. Since young age, we have been taught by our gov that all of us has our rights...we taught our children about their rights to be heard and their rights to learn but now, I see that our well 'reputated' gov has to eat their words.

What rights do we have when we can't even express ourselves? What can we do when we can't even gather for peaceful gathering. Yes, I understand our gov's concern. The star has quoted DPM saying 'measures taken were to ensure the best interest of the rakyat were protected.'

I believed that a peaceful rally would barely treaten the rakyat. If his worries are the peaceful rally may turn into aggresive riot, then perhaps the wiser solution would be, stationing officers there to ensure the safety rather than stopping the people and giving a worse impact on the heart of the large public. I believe if that was done, then perhaps I wouldn't even have started this topic here. The more you controlled, the more curious people are.

While for the Hindraf gathering, our hardworking police officers ave been deployed to put up road blocks on major road in Klang Valley causing massive jams for 3 continuos days. I really pitied the officers for being placed under the sun and the rain.

And another group that I am pitied for are our poor gov servants...yes goverment 'servants'. You are again being reminded that you have no rights!

“We will not show any mercy to anyone involved in the illegal rally, especially teachers and students.....We will deliver the maximum penalty and, as for teachers, they will be sacked," said Education Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein.

All these actions were taken with the saying for the interest of rakyat and for we are all bounded under the ISA.
